How to Make Paralon Verticulture and From Used Bottles

How to make vertical paralon and from used bottles is an easy business to learn. If you want to grow crops on limited land, you can, so anyone can try it.

The verticulture method is a way of farming vertically. In this technique, plant pots are hung on a wall or arranged on a multilevel shelf.

How to Make Verticulture with Soil Media

Verticulture with soil media is often referred to as the conventional verticulture method. Here's a simple way to grow crops vertically with soil media and used bottles:

Prepare Pots from Used Bottles

Used bottles needed are 1.5 L or 2 L mineral water bottles. Clean the bottle and then make a 3-5 cm wide hole on the side, from top to bottom. Don't forget to make drainage holes in used bottles. This bottle will later be used horizontally. These bottle pots are more suitable for short rooted plants. If the plant you are planning to plant has longer roots, you can make a bottle pot by cutting off the bottom of the bottle, punching holes in the lid for drainage and the sides for hanging the pot.

Prepare Planting Media

Planting media that need to be prepared are loose soil, compost, and husks. Mix the three ingredients in a 1:1:1 ratio. Next, fill the planting media in the used bottle pots.

Determine the Planting Area and Prepare the Area

Choose a wall that is exposed to sunlight for at least 6 hours. Drive nails into the wall to hang the bottle pots and prepare a rope for this purpose. Make sure that the walls are strong enough to support the pots.

Planting and Care

Plants that are suitable for cultivation in this way are mustard greens, lettuce, spinach, kale, and basil. Before the planting process, you must first sow the seeds. After that, new seeds can be planted in bottle pots.

Hang the pot that has been planted on the wall that has been prepared. Take care of the plant by watering it every day and fertilizing it with liquid fertilizer regularly.

You can also use paralon pipes that are arranged upright in vertical cultivation.

How to Make Hydroponic Verticulture

In addition to using soil media, verticulture can also be done with hydroponic media. For pots or containers, you can use paralon pipes, mineral water bottles, and wall planter bags.

One way to make hydroponic verticulture is with a paralon pipe that is upheld

Well, for the type of plant, you can choose the same plants as those grown in conventional verticulture.

Basically, these plants are annuals that don't take long to harvest and their roots are short.

The way to do this cultivation is:

• Prepare a paralon pipe with a width of 5 inches, wood with a diameter of 6 cm (to make planting holes), tape measure, saw, candles, matches, wet cloth, planting media, and plant seeds.

• Cut the pipe 1 m long.

• Make planting holes with a width of 5 cm with a cross position, a distance of 60 cm for each hole. Mark the hole and cut it with a saw.

• Heat the paralon on the part that has been cut using a lit candle. After the pipe becomes flexible, plug the wood in the section so that a planting hole is formed, then cool the paralon with a wet cloth

• Insert hydroponic growing media, such as rockwool, perlite, or cocopeat into the paralon. Make sure that the paralon is filled with planting media completely, so that all planting holes can be used properly.

• Choose an area that gets enough sunlight to place a hydroponic vertical paralon. Selection of this area is very important because verticulture plants need to get at least 6 hours of sunlight per day in order to grow well

• Erect the pipe in the area. Make sure that the paralon can stand firmly, for example by planting it in the ground or installing a support.

• Plant vegetable seeds in planting holes. You can also use this vertical pipe to grow ornamental plants, such as petunias, begonias, bromeliads, and purslane plants.

• Install a watering system, for example by using an irrigation pipe. The irrigation can be done from below or by drip system.

Well, that's the article about how to make paralon verticulture and from used bottles using soil media. It's been published in the Hydroponics category, hopefully it's useful.
